Crown Point Press is offering a new daily printing experience this summer for past workshop participants. Under the guidance of Crown Point printer Arikah Conant, you can focus on printing your existing etched plates.
This is an opportunity to hone your printing skills. You can choose to print your own small edition, develop registration skills for multiple plate prints, practise and develop hand-wiping skills, experiment with color mixing and proofing, explore chine collé or learn how to tear down and curate your finished prints. Please note that these sessions are dedicated solely to printing; no plate-making will occur.
Space is limited to three participants per day, with access to three presses: our large American French Tool electric press and our two smaller Brand hand presses. Please note presses may have to be shared between participants to accommodate print size. The studio will be set as it is during the summer workshops, so you can dive right into printing. Studio materials that are needed for a day of printing are included in the daily fee: black and color inks and tools for mixing and inking plates, tarlatan, rags and solvents. Paper is charged separately from the daily fee, and can be purchased from Crown Point the day of the workshop. Hours are 9 AM-5 PM with an hour break for lunch when work in the studio will be paused.
Your prints will be flattened and dried and ready for pick-up approximately two weeks after your printing day.
Fridays, July 11, 18, and 25.
Monday through Friday, July 28-August 1
Fee: $450 per day plus paper, which is invoiced based on use.
Cancellation policy: The fee is nonrefundable
